About Ibadan Life
Ibadan Life is a life game you play in your browser, set on the real streets of Ibadan. You claim an address on a real street, find work, trade, furnish a home, buy land and vote. The people around you are other players, living a few plots away.

Why a real city
We wanted a life game set somewhere you can point to on a map. The areas of Ibadan are where they really are, the roads come from OpenStreetMap, and the landmarks stand where you would find them. People who grew up here recognise their own street. People who have never visited learn the city by living in it.
One of many cities to come
Ibadan is the first city. The game runs on one engine, and each new city brings its own map, places, history and voice. Osogbo Life is next, and you can already claim a plot there. More Nigerian cities will follow.
Every city is its own game, with its own residents and its own economy. A Sim Passport lets a character travel to other city games that accept it, carrying only their name and their look.
How it is made
Ibadan Life is made by Uphiva Ltd, the company that owns it. Its creator, David Oladeji, works there. There is nothing to download: it runs in a phone browser.
We build it with Claude, the AI model made by Anthropic. Claude writes and reviews much of the code and helps with some of the game's writing. Players' names, emails and chat messages are never sent to it.
The game is for adults aged 18 and over. Land, houses, jobs and money in it are fiction; the streets and places are real. The full rules are in the terms and the privacy notice.
